ICBM™ Preserve Your Engine Forever.
Install it once—ride for years. ICBM™ needs almost no maintenance.
Our Mission
Our mission is clear: to pass internal combustion engines to the next generation.
We don’t just store vintage motorcycles and classic engines—we make sure they’re ready to be ridden and enjoyed.
ICBM™ is a key step in preserving this culture for the future.
Benefits of ICBM™ Technology
ICBM™ (our proprietary technology that applies nickel silicon carbide plating to aluminum sleeves) offers the following benefits for your precious vintage bike:
1. Long-lasting super durability
Once integrated, ICBM™ provides semi-permanent durability. The high hardness of the plating combined with the excellent properties of the aluminum sleeve significantly reduces the need for frequent overhauls. Over time, you’ll be free from the constant hassle of repairs and save money in the process.
2. Preserve your engine while riding
ICBM™ removes the issue of inevitable wear with every ride. You can keep your classic bike active, maintained, and still enjoy it to the fullest.
3. Feel the engine's pulse forever!
Cylinders revived with ICBM™ deliver smooth, near-new reciprocating motion. Each twist of the throttle transmits the “living pulse” of the engine, maintaining the rider's pride and excitement for years to come.
Through these benefits, we provide full support to help owners confidently integrate and maintain their engines for the long term.
Process of ICBM™ Technology
Inoue Boring has always focused on combining innovative technology with traditional craftsmanship to bring satisfaction and lasting enjoyment to our customers. One of the results of this commitment is ICBM™—our proprietary technology that applies nickel silicon carbide plating to aluminum sleeves.

1. Aluminum Sleeve Machining
The process begins with CNC lathe machining to shape the sleeve from heat-treated, high-strength aluminum A6061-T6 material.

2. Two-Stroke Port Hole Machining
Using a horizontal machining center, we operate with 3D CAD/CAM programs to machine the port holes essential to a two-stroke engine. We then precisely align the ports on the sleeve and the cylinder barrel, which may have inconsistencies due to casting. Finally, a skilled technician finishes the process by hand to ensure the highest quality.

3. Plating Process
The completed aluminum sleeve is coated with nickel silicon carbide plating. This plating ranks just below diamond in hardness and requires advanced technical expertise to apply.

4. Plateau Honing Process
After plating, we apply plateau honing using diamond abrasives. This process smooths out the rough surface left after plating, requiring a high level of expertise due to the hardness of the surface. With nearly 40 years of experience in this finishing technique, we ensure the highest quality. The result is a perfectly smooth, highly durable plated cylinder that eliminates the need for break-in.
ICBM™ has already issued over 1,050 serial numbers and is repeatedly used in engines such as the Kawasaki H2, Z2/Z1, and RZ350. The first unit (Serial No. 001) was completed for the SR400 engine, and since then, ICBM™ has gained widespread support from owners of everything from vintage bikes to high-performance engines.

Why ICBM™ Is Revolutionary
✔ Exceptional wear resistance
✔ Lightweight
✔ Low friction (reduces ring wear)
✔ Highly resistant to seizure
✔ Excellent heat dissipation
✔ Uniform expansion rate
✔ And it’s rust-resistant!

Ready-to-Use EVERSLEEVE™ for Four-Stroke Engines Now Available!
Inoue Boring has begun selling the aluminum sleeve "EVERSLEEVE™" processed with the ICBM™ method. Since the pre-machined aluminum sleeve is simply swapped out with the iron sleeve, there's no need to send your cylinder or sleeve to Japan. Just insert the purchased sleeve and stopper ring into the cylinder, perform the final surface grinding (or surface cutting), and you’ll have an aluminum-plated cylinder.
This process allows bike shops with machining capabilities or local internal combustion engine shops to easily carry out the aluminum plating procedure!
How It Works
Step 1: Purchase on Our E-Commerce Site
Purchase the EVERSLEEVE™ that fits your motorcycle in our store. You do not need to send your cylinder, etc. to Japan.
Step 2: Request Resleeving from a Repair Shop or Sleeve Machining Service Near You.
By bringing the EVERSLEEVE™ sent from Japan to your repair shop or resleeving service, you can have ICBM™ processing applied to your engine.
Try Our Revolutionary ICBM™ Technology
With the launch of ICBM™ and the complete EVERSLEEVE™ sleeve, Inoue Boring is setting out to revolutionize the world of internal combustion machining.
Our goal is simple: to ensure that classic motorcycles and vintage engines continue to run and be enjoyed for years to come. By anticipating the evolving needs of the industry, we remain committed to supporting the future of iconic bikes and engines, constantly pushing boundaries in the process.
